Extended call for papers

The conference shall encourage exchange of knowledge and contacts within the music therapeutic field. For this reason workshops, with following reflecting discussions, will be given an extra amount of space. Even other, more unconventional, forms of meetings will be arranged to support contact between the participants of the conference. Suggestions are welcome. In other respects the conference will have key note speakers and, hopefully, a wide range of short presentations.

The main topics of the conference are: contemporary music therapy research, experience from clinical work, music therapy as a resource for society and ongoing processes within the educational institutions of the Nordic countries.

We hereby invite all music therapists to send abstracts for presentations and workshops.

Instructions for abstracts

Abstracts should be sent by e-mail to: nordicsound@musikterapi.se as a MS Word attachment by February 1^st, 2006.

The abstract shall contain a description of the presentation/workshop using a maximum of 200 words. A committee will review the abstract for acceptance and inform the author by February 28, 2006. All accepted abstracts will be printed in the conference program.

Please specify the technical equipment and music instruments that are required, or if you have special desires on the premises. We can supply:

• PC projector
• PC
• Video
• Stereo, cd-player (no tape recorder)
• Musical instruments (piano, guitar, percussion etc., specify what you need)

There are numerous opportunities to use music in various forms in your presentation/workshop.

Time limits

Workshop: 90 minutes including 30 minutes for discussion
Oral presentation: 45 minutes including 15 minutes for discussion
